If you’ve ever dreamed of seeing your name alongside some of the world’s top editors, producers, and creative directors, Filmsupply’s EditFest 2025 is your chance to shine. This annual global editing competition brings together storytellers, creators, and visionaries from every corner of the industry — all united by one goal: to tell a powerful story in 60 seconds or less.

This year’s competition offers over $70,000 in prizes, access to premium cinematic footage, professional music licensing, and the opportunity to have your work reviewed by industry-leading judges. Whether you’re a freelancer, film student, content creator, or agency pro, EditFest 2025 is your stage.

Step 1: Download the Starter Kit

Everything begins with the EditFest Starter Kit — your all-in-one toolkit for crafting a show-stopping submission. Inside, you’ll find:

  • Detailed submission instructions

  • Your unique Filmsupply download code

  • Access to curated cinematic clips

  • Music from Musicbed’s exclusive EditFest playlist

  • Licensing documents

  • The official EditFest bumper, which must appear at the start of every film

Participants can download up to 75 Filmsupply clips using their personal download code. At least 51% of each edit must include Filmsupply footage, ensuring a level playing field and encouraging editors to push the limits of storytelling using the platform’s high-quality cinematic content.

The Starter Kit also includes guidelines for using licensed music and footage — entries that reuse assets beyond the contest or omit the bumper will be disqualified. Entrants are encouraged to download watermarked preview files first, perfect their cuts, and then replace them with final licensed versions.

Download the Starter Kit and get started.

Step 2: Choose Your Category and Submit Your Edit

Submissions are open across three dynamic categories:

  1. Title Sequence – Craft an opening that hooks audiences before the story even begins. Think motion, typography, and atmosphere — your challenge is to make a title sequence that’s impossible to skip.

  2. Advertisement – Build a concept-driven ad that connects emotionally and visually. Strong storytelling, pacing, and sound design are key to capturing attention in 60 seconds or less.

  3. Trailer – Condense an epic story into a minute of cinematic magic. Use tension, rhythm, and visual cues to tease the viewer without giving everything away.

You can submit only one film — either solo or as a team. Entries must be 60 seconds or less, including bumpers, credits, and black frames. Submissions longer than 1:00 will be automatically disqualified, and no edits can be resubmitted once submitted.

Submissions officially open September 16, 2025, at 5:00 pm UTC, and close October 21, 2025, at 5:00 pm UTC.

All films must be uploaded to Vimeo or YouTube as public or unlisted links. Private videos will not be accepted. Once submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email from Filmsupply.

Step 3: Get Ready to Win Big

This year’s prize pool totals over $70,000, including gear, software, and creative resources from some of the most respected names in the industry:

Sponsors include:
Acidbite, FilmConvert, Musicbed, aescripts + aeplugins, Dehancer, Peak Design, and Saturation.

Beyond prizes, winners receive personalized feedback from a jury of industry professionals and priceless exposure across Filmsupply’s global network. Past EditFest champions have gone on to work with agencies, studios, and brands worldwide — proof that this contest isn’t just about winning prizes, but launching careers.

Meet the Judges: The Minds Behind the Screen

EditFest’s judging panel is stacked with talent from agencies, studios, and post-production houses that shape the creative industry. This year’s lineup includes:

  • Aly Weatherford, Senior Producer at Edelman (clients: LEGO Education, eBay, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, CVS Health)

  • Jordan Wright, Producer at Untold Studios (Amazon Music, Universal Music, Estée Lauder)

  • Tiffany Taveras, Editor & Colorist at Whitehouse Post (Grey Goose, Coca-Cola, Modelo, Fujifilm)

  • Valerie Lasser, Editor at Big Sky Edit (Amazon Small Business, Nationwide, Nespresso Origins)

  • JD Smyth, Editor/Partner at Final Cut (Nike, AT&T, Comcast, NFL)

These professionals will evaluate finalists based on Concept, Storytelling, Emotion, and Technical Execution.
