Toronto - The cost of enrolling your child in organized sports can easily run into the thousands of dollars per year; especially, athletes that play competitive hockey. In fact, the cost of equipment, registration fees, gas for travel, and accommodations often costs more than $5,000 a year. Once you account for training schools and tournament costs, you will quickly realize that sourcing a part-time job may be the only option for many parents.
In fact, in an article recently published in the Globe and Mail newspaper, Preet Banerjee, B.Sc, FMA, DMS, FCSI, states, “Statistics Canada reported that the participation rate for children in the highest income households was 68 percent in 2005, compared to only 44 per cent in both the lowest and second lowest income tiers. That same study showed that soccer had blown past hockey in terms of participation. Not having to outfit your kids as gladiators is a big reason for that.”
In other words, kids born into families with resources often participate in competitive sports at a higher rate than kids from the lowest income families. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the federal government introduced a child fitness tax credit in 2007 of $500 per child to help lessen the burden on parents. Unfortunately, a $500 tax credit translates to only $75 in savings.
In an effort to increase participation in competitive sports while mitigating the rising cost of said participation with an emphasis placed on soccer, TalkPix has entered into an exclusive partnership with Life Off The Pitch to develop TalkPix Sports. TalkPix Sports is a revolutionary, first-of-its kind mobile phone app that allows soccer parents, their children and their friends to collaborate with one another to shoot and share fitness-inspired selfies and earn content, software licensing and advertising revenues which is contributed towards an athlete’s training.
It is a revolutionary, simple to use tool designed specifically to help soccer moms, hockey moms and related parents to build self-replicating teams of donors who work together to help each other offset the rising cost of organized sports.
“TalkPix is literally the most innovative multi-platform fund raising solution—that works in concert with all major crowd funding platforms from Kickstarter to Indiegogo and Go Fund Me”, says Sarika Khambaita, Spokesperson, TalkPix Media Group.
Khambaita adds, "TalkPix was created for the soccer mom that lacks a personal network but has the desire to raise funding for his or her child".
“It was not designed to replace Kickstarter, Indiegogo and other players. On the contrary, TalkPix enhances a crowd funders’ existing campaign by focusing on the areas Kickstarter and Indiegogo ignore including marketing, donor development, social ambassador acquisition, social ambassador reward and media publicity”.
Some of the innovations TalkPix brings to the crowd funding world include:
“We are proud to join forces with TalkPix to rollout TalkPix Crowd (www.fanrewardsnetwork.com), TalkPix Plus and TalkPix Sports”, says Anthony Huie, Founder, Life Off The Pitch.
“With my 30 plus years in training soccer players I am fully aware of the high cost of competitive sports. It’s about time that a tech company created a solution to help parents and their kids to succeed. We are excited to be a part of the global rollout of TalkPix.”
TalkPix Crowd was launched September 23, 2015. Create an account at http://www.fanrewardsnetwork.com. TalkPix Sports (for Android) is available for download Winter 2016.
