Despite being a celebrated Playwright/Screenwriter/Producer dating back in receiving the prestigious Harry Jerome award, film award such as the Audience Choice Award at the Reelworld Film Festival in Toronto, and the best Television Drama Award at the NAPTE, (National Association of Television Program Executives) in Hollywood-the struggle continues.
I'm forever in gratitude for the greatest lesson of my life-regardless of the obstacles. Therefore; I'm truly convinced and driven that 2023 will be successful.
I would like to bring to the local and global audiences a family oriented sitcom/dramedy entitled Tony & Fiya, (Dela Cruz).
People of different racial/ethnic backgrounds are getting married daily; the Dela Cruz's will be uniquely different in many ways. Fiya is a black Canadian of Jamaican heritage, Tony was born in Toronto to immigrants from the Philippines. This happy married interacial couple with a ten year old girl, will entertain and educate the lives of many people.
In Toronto we all live in a city that is culturally diverse; therefore the show will feature a cast of different people from many cultural backgrounds, fittingly representing the society we live in. Tony and Fiya can be anywhere in North America.
I have already cast all the actors and lined up technical crew and locations to film a trailer for presentation to television stations and major streaming sources.
The actors have agreed to film the trailer for free, including myself as writer, director, producer. However; costs such as technical crew: locations: catering: editing: costumes: makeup: music: (plus miscellaneous) needs to be taken care of.
I'm kindly asking you for a donation to cover the costs in making this a reality; not just for me but for you and many others who wants to see a change in Television.
