University of Toronto students and alumni with a vision for the future have an incredible opportunity to turn their ideas into tangible business ventures with the 2026 Desjardins Startup Prize. This annual pitch competition, presented by Desjardins and delivered by University of Toronto Entrepreneurship, is designed to recognize, reward, and accelerate the most innovative startups emerging from Canada’s largest university. With over $100,000 in prizes up for grabs, aspiring entrepreneurs have the chance to gain financial support, mentorship, and recognition for their entrepreneurial talent.
Are you a startup founder or someone with a groundbreaking idea you’re eager to turn into a business? The Desjardins Startup Prize provides a platform to showcase your entrepreneurial vision. The competition identifies the most promising startups and connects founders with a network of experienced investors, industry professionals, and fellow innovators. By participating, applicants gain exposure to potential funding, valuable mentorship, and an opportunity to refine their business strategies for real-world impact.
The prize is not just about financial rewards—it’s about launching ideas that can change industries and contribute meaningfully to society. From tech innovations to social enterprises, the competition celebrates creativity, ingenuity, and the drive to solve real-world problems.
The 2026 Desjardins Startup Prize competition will culminate in a week-long celebration of entrepreneurship at the University of Toronto during Entrepreneurship Week, taking place from March 2–6, 2026. Ten finalists will be selected to participate in the pitch competition, where they will have five minutes to present their business ideas to a panel of distinguished investor judges.
Participants are divided into two categories based on their startup’s stage and funding:
Early-Stage Startups: For ventures that have received less than $50,000 in cumulative funding or investment and have earned less than $25,000 in revenue as of November 29, 2025.
Later-Stage Startups: For ventures that have raised between $50,000 and $250,000 in cumulative funding and generated less than $100,000 in revenue as of November 29, 2025.
This dual-category structure ensures that startups at different stages of growth can compete fairly and receive recognition appropriate to their development level.
The 2026 competition continues the tradition of offering substantial prizes and support to winners. In each category, three main prizes will be awarded along with an additional People’s Choice award of $4,000, known as the Dongjun Wang Family True Blue Prize. This prize allows the community to recognize a startup that resonates with the public and celebrates entrepreneurial potential.
For Early-Stage startups, the prizes are:
1st Place: $15,000
2nd Place: $10,000
3rd Place: $5,000
People’s Choice: $4,000
For Later-Stage startups, the prizes are even more significant:
1st Place: $40,000
2nd Place: $20,000
3rd Place: $10,000
People’s Choice: $4,000
Beyond the cash prizes, all winners receive additional support designed to accelerate their growth, including up to $5,000 in legal counsel from Cassels, two passes to Startup Fest in Montreal, and an ONRamp membership. These benefits offer startups crucial guidance and networking opportunities that extend far beyond the competition itself.
The 2025 Desjardins Startup Prize celebrated innovative startups across a range of industries. In the Early-Stage category, NanoMorphix captured first place with $15,000, followed by Medium AI and Vrit. Elev8 & Perform received the People’s Choice award.
In the Later-Stage category, Flow Robotics won $40,000 for first place, while Dinamik Therapies and Re:Pair Genomics took home $20,000 and $10,000, respectively. Flow Robotics also secured the People’s Choice award, reflecting the strong support and excitement from the entrepreneurial community. These past winners illustrate the caliber of innovation and potential recognized by the Desjardins Startup Prize.
Applications for the 2026 Desjardins Startup Prize open on October 14, 2025, and close on November 24, 2025. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications early and ensure all required materials are complete. The finalists will be notified in advance of the pitch competition, which is scheduled for March 5, 2026.
The application process is straightforward but competitive. Applicants are evaluated based on criteria such as innovation, market potential, scalability, and overall impact. Founders should be prepared to demonstrate how their venture addresses a real need and why it stands out in its respective market.
To ensure fairness and transparency, eligibility criteria and funding thresholds are clearly defined. Early-Stage startups must have received less than $50,000 in cumulative funding and earned less than $25,000 in revenue, while Later-Stage startups must fall within the $50,000–$250,000 funding range with less than $100,000 in revenue.
The judging process is rigorous, with a panel of investor judges evaluating each pitch for innovation, feasibility, and growth potential. The People’s Choice award provides an additional opportunity for community engagement and recognition, giving startups a platform to gain support beyond the judging panel.
The Desjardins Startup Prize is more than a competition—it’s a springboard for entrepreneurs ready to take their ventures to the next level. Participants benefit from mentorship, investor connections, financial rewards, and visibility within a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Whether you are an aspiring founder with a concept in its earliest stages or a startup founder looking to scale, the competition offers invaluable opportunities to accelerate growth and make meaningful connections. It’s a chance to validate your ideas, refine your pitch, and showcase your startup to influential stakeholders.

In the modern digital economy, content is king — but creating it can be a full-time job. What if you could leverage AI to generate high-quality content while you sleep, building engagement, leads, and revenue around the clock? The good news is, today’s AI tools make this not only possible but surprisingly simple.
Here are five ways ( PLUS a BONUS STRATEGY) to automate content creation and distribution so you can focus on strategy while the AI does the heavy lifting.
One of the simplest ways to start automating content is with AI blog generators. Tools like Jasper, Copy.ai, and Writesonic can draft full-length articles, newsletters, or product descriptions with minimal input. By feeding the AI your target keywords, tone preferences, and desired article length, it can produce polished, ready-to-publish content in minutes.
How to maximize results:
Set clear guidelines for voice and style so the AI aligns with your brand.
Schedule posts in advance using a content management system (CMS) like WordPress or HubSpot.
Combine AI drafting with light human editing for maximum quality.
The result? Consistent, SEO-friendly content published automatically, keeping your audience engaged even when you’re offline.
EventBot AI takes content automation to the next level, particularly for businesses seeking both engagement and revenue generation. Here’s what EventBot can do:
Business-Specific Content: Trained on your business data, EventBot crafts content relevant to your industry and brand.
Third-Party Perspective: It writes content as a neutral journalist, building credibility and trust.
Social Media Sharing: Posts are automatically shared across your channels, maximizing reach.
Embedded Links & Affiliate Tracking: Onboarding forms, affiliate IDs, and registration links can be embedded directly into the content.
Monetization: EventBot pays $1 per opt-in registration and can share up to 70% of ad revenue, effectively turning your content into a passive income engine.
This tool is ideal for entrepreneurs and marketers who want automated, monetized content that builds their audience while requiring minimal hands-on effort.
Video content drives engagement like nothing else, and AI now allows you to produce professional-looking videos without a camera or editing software. Tools like Synthesia, Pictory, and InVideo can:
Convert blog posts or articles into video scripts.
Generate AI avatars or voiceovers to narrate the content.
Add captions, transitions, and branded graphics automatically.
Pro tip: Repurpose your EventBot articles into video content. AI-generated videos can be scheduled across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, creating another layer of automated visibility.
Even if you have amazing content, it’s useless if it doesn’t reach your audience. AI-powered social media management tools like Buffer, Hootsuite, and Later can:
Automatically schedule posts across multiple platforms.
Recommend optimal posting times based on engagement analytics.
Suggest hashtags, captions, and image placement for maximum reach.
Curate AI-generated content into themed campaigns without manual intervention.
Pairing EventBot AI with a scheduling tool ensures that your content is distributed automatically, with no gaps in visibility. Your social media accounts can function 24/7, attracting followers, subscribers, and leads while you sleep.
Email remains one of the highest-ROI channels for businesses. AI-driven email platforms like Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, and Klaviyo can:
Generate personalized email copy based on user behavior and engagement patterns.
Segment audiences dynamically to send highly relevant campaigns.
Optimize subject lines, headlines, and CTAs using predictive AI.
Trigger automated drip sequences or follow-ups based on interactions.
For example, an EventBot AI article with embedded opt-in forms can automatically feed new leads into an email sequence. AI will then nurture those leads with content, offers, or affiliate promotions — all on autopilot.
The benefit: Your email marketing works continuously, delivering relevant content and generating revenue without constant manual effort.
Creating content is time-consuming—but with Perplexity Comet and Pamper Me Network’s EventBot AI, you can automate creation, distribution, and monetization all in one workflow. Here’s how it works step by step:
Step 1: Generate Content with Perplexity Comet
Use Comet to research, summarize, and draft high-quality articles, blog posts, or short-form content.
Comet provides AI-assisted insights, outlines, or full drafts based on your keywords and target audience.
Step 2: Upload Content to EventBot via Pamper Me Network
Create an EventBot account on Pamper Me Network.
Upload the content you created with Comet. EventBot acts as the automation engine.
Step 3: Automate Distribution
Once the minimum requirement has been met. EventBot automatically posts your content across multiple channels: social media platforms, email sequences, and even affiliate networks.
It schedules posts at optimal times for maximum engagement without manual intervention.
Step 4: Monetize Engagement
Embedded affiliate links, ad tracking, and registration forms allow EventBot to generate revenue directly from your content.
You earn automatically per click, opt-in, or ad impression, turning each piece of content into a passive income stream.
Step 5: Track Performance and Optimize
EventBot collects engagement metrics, clicks, conversions, and revenue data.
Use these insights to refine your content strategy, and feed new topics back into Perplexity Comet for even smarter AI-generated content.
Why This Combination Works:
Perplexity Comet: Provides fast, high-quality AI content creation.
EventBot AI: Handles automated distribution, affiliate integration, and monetization.
Together, you get a full-cycle content machine: research → creation → distribution → monetization → optimization.
Result: You can create, publish, and earn from content 24/7 without manual posting or constant oversight, scaling your audience and revenue effortlessly.
Imagine a typical day for your AI-driven content system:
Perplexity Comet and EventBot AI writes a business-specific article in the early hours.
The article is automatically shared on social media with embedded links and affiliate tracking.
AI video platforms convert the content into a short video posted on Instagram and TikTok.
Social scheduling tools ensure posts appear at the best times for your audience.
Email automation follows up with new subscribers, nurturing leads, and maximizing conversions.
By morning, your business has a fresh stream of published content, engaged followers, and potentially new leads and revenue — all while you slept.
The combination of content automation and AI-driven distribution:
Saves Time: You no longer need to create, post, and schedule manually.
Increases Reach: Automated posting ensures your content reaches audiences across multiple channels consistently.
Generates Passive Income: Tools like EventBot AI monetize your content directly through affiliate tracking and ad revenue sharing.
Maintains Quality: AI can produce polished, brand-aligned content without losing your business voice.
Supports Scalability: You can grow your content output exponentially without hiring a full team.
Content creation doesn’t have to be exhausting or time-consuming. By leveraging AI tools like EventBot AI, automated blog writers, video platforms, social schedulers, and email automation, your business can operate a content engine 24/7.
The future of content is not just AI-assisted — it’s AI-managed. Those who embrace these tools today will enjoy more visibility, engagement, and revenue tomorrow — all without sacrificing sleep, creativity, or sanity.
Whether you’re a solo entrepreneur or running a growing team, integrating AI into your content workflow is no longer optional — it’s a smart strategy for sustainable, automated growth.

As the air turns crisp and pumpkin spice lattes reappear, our wardrobes aren’t the only thing getting a seasonal refresh. This fall, nail trends are leaning away from maximalist art and neon brights — and embracing the understated allure of quiet luxury.
Quiet luxury isn’t about flaunting logos or glitter; it’s about refinement, timelessness, and the subtle confidence that comes from knowing your look exudes quality without shouting for attention. On your nails, that means deep, polished tones, creamy neutrals, and rich finishes that whisper sophistication with every gesture.
Here are seven fall nail shades that perfectly capture the essence of quiet luxury — elegant, effortless, and undeniably chic.

There’s something about a deep wine-red manicure that instantly feels elegant. Unlike bright cherry reds or vivid crimsons, Bordeaux shades (think merlot, cabernet, or garnet) offer a velvety richness that pairs perfectly with fall’s earthy tones.
This color works beautifully on short, squared nails or almond shapes — and transitions seamlessly from day to night. Pair it with gold jewelry or a neutral cashmere sweater, and you’ve nailed understated glam.

Hex: #4C1C24
Description: A rich, velvety red with deep plum and wine undertones — sophisticated and timeless.
Finish: High-gloss or gel finish for that glass-like luxury look.
Pairs with: Gold jewelry, camel, black, or ivory outfits.
Pro tip: Look for polishes with subtle brown or plum undertones — they bring more depth and warmth than true red, making your hands look instantly more refined.
For lovers of quiet neutrals, taupe is the unsung hero of fall nail palettes. It’s soft, calming, and endlessly versatile — like your favorite oversized sweater in polish form.
Whether you choose a creamy beige-taupe or a greige with a hint of mushroom, this shade complements every skin tone and looks fresh with everything from tailored coats to cozy knits.

Hex: #B8A89F
Description: A soft, creamy taupe with warm beige undertones — cozy yet elegant.
Finish: Matte or satin for a suede-inspired texture.
Pairs with: Neutrals, minimalist rings, or cozy knitwear.
Luxury moment: Pair taupe nails with a matte topcoat for a modern, suede-like finish. It’s minimalism, perfected.
Green might not be the first color you think of for “luxury,” but deep olive is having a major moment in 2025. This grounded, nature-inspired tone adds a contemporary twist to the season’s palette — equal parts edgy and refined.
Olive nails pair especially well with gold accents, beige trench coats, and dark denim. It’s the kind of color that looks designer even when it’s not.

Hex: #4A4E38
Description: A muted olive-green with gray undertones — earthy and modern.
Finish: Glossy for depth, or add a gold accent stripe for contrast.
Pairs with: Beige, tan, or dark denim for an effortless luxury feel.
Try this combo: Add a thin gold stripe along the cuticle or a French tip in metallic bronze for a touch of autumn opulence.
There’s something deliciously rich about burnt caramel — that golden-brown shade that sits between amber and chestnut. It’s reminiscent of fall leaves, spiced lattes, and vintage leather bags.
This hue embodies warm luxury: comforting yet refined. It flatters all skin tones and pairs beautifully with chocolate, cream, or olive outfits.

Hex: #A85C32
Description: A warm amber-brown tone reminiscent of toffee and fall leaves — buttery and rich.
Finish: Gel or glossy for a melted, candy-like look.
Pairs with: Cream, chocolate brown, or autumn orange accessories.
Polish finish tip: Choose a glossy, gel-like formula to enhance the color’s depth — or opt for a satin finish for a softer, more understated vibe.
If beige feels too safe and pink too sweet, smoky mauve strikes the perfect balance. This color mixes dusty rose with a touch of gray, resulting in a moody, muted tone that’s both romantic and modern.
It’s elegant enough for work and subtle enough to pair with any outfit — yet still offers a sense of intrigue. Smoky mauve is what the “old money” aesthetic looks like in nail form: graceful, quiet, and effortlessly stylish.

Hex: #9E7E87
Description: A dusty mauve-pink with gray undertones — romantic yet grounded.
Finish: Satin or semi-gloss for an elegant, modern finish.
Pairs with: Camel coats, pearls, or muted rose tones.
Style inspo: Wear it with pearls, camel coats, or minimalist gold rings for that soft-luxury aesthetic.
Deep brown nails have become the fashion world’s favorite fall statement — and it’s easy to see why. Rich espresso tones are sleek, sophisticated, and unexpectedly powerful.
This shade gives the same timeless energy as black polish but with a softer, more wearable edge. It looks incredible on all nail shapes and lengths — from short and rounded to long and coffin-shaped.

Hex: #3B2F2F
Description: A rich, coffee-inspired dark brown that radiates confidence and warmth.
Finish: High-shine for a “molten” effect; matte for a fashion-forward twist.
Pairs with: Black, cream, or metallic accessories.
For extra depth: Choose a high-shine or gel finish to enhance the polish’s “molten” look under light.
For those who love darker shades but want something a little different than black or brown, midnight navy is the answer. It’s dramatic yet refined — the kind of color that feels couture without trying too hard.
Navy nails feel crisp, structured, and endlessly sophisticated, making them perfect for evening wear or business chic.

Hex: #1C2A44
Description: A deep navy with inky undertones — luxurious, mysterious, and cool.
Finish: Glossy or gel for a reflective, mirror-like effect.
Pairs with: Silver jewelry, structured blazers, or evening looks.
Trend tip: Add a high-gloss top coat for a mirror-like finish that reflects light beautifully.
The magic of quiet luxury lies not just in color but in finish and form. To fully embrace the aesthetic:
Keep nails short to medium length with a natural or softly rounded shape.
Opt for flawless application — smooth edges, clean cuticles, and even polish coverage make a world of difference.
Stick to minimalist nail art. If you want a design, try a micro-French tip, tone-on-tone gradient, or a single accent nail with metallic foil or a subtle pearl.
Hydrate your hands. Luxurious nails deserve equally elegant hands — cuticle oil and hand cream are your secret weapons.
Quiet luxury is a lifestyle — it’s about investing in quality over quantity and embracing timeless design. Just like a tailored coat or a silk scarf, your nails can express refinement without being loud.
In a world obsessed with fast trends and flashy looks, choosing a subtle, well-crafted manicure feels almost rebellious — a nod to those who understand that true elegance doesn’t need attention to be admired.

So, as you sip your cider and scroll through fall inspiration boards, consider giving your nails the quiet-luxury treatment.
Because this season, expensive doesn’t mean extravagant — it means effortless, polished, and perfectly you.
The AI and SaaS gold rush isn’t slowing down — but most tools still struggle to convert curious visitors into paying customers. The truth is, people don’t buy software or “AI” — they buy outcomes. They buy speed, clarity, and results they can feel in days, not months.
In today’s digital economy, success doesn’t belong to the biggest or most complex platforms. It belongs to the solutions that solve one painful, visible problem instantly. The kind of tools that make users say, “Finally — this is exactly what I needed.”
This article breaks down what people are actually spending money on in the AI, SaaS, and digital marketing space right now — what makes them buy fast, what offers create instant trust, and how creators and businesses are turning attention into revenue within days.
Before getting into what sells, these are features / triggers that tend to drive fast decisions in this space:
Clear, immediate value: the customer must see in seconds what problem will be solved and how. If they can picture their life being easier (or money being saved or made) right away, that helps.
Low risk / friction: money back guarantees, small commitments, free trials, clear pricing, minimal setup.
Urgency or scarcity: time-limited offers, limited seats, bonuses for early adopters.
Social proof / trust signals: testimonials, reviews, case studies, logos, data (“we helped X company get Y result in Z time”).
Ease of use / time saving: people are buying when they want to reduce work, automate tasks, get things done faster with less hassle.
Good UX / onboarding: intuitive UI, fast onboarding, minimal learning curve—if someone can get value in days (ideally hours), they’re more likely to pay quickly.
Strong positioning for ROI: especially in business buying, being able to show how cost is justified (incremental revenue, saved labour, etc.).
Based on recent trends, startup signals, Reddit threads, product reports, etc., these are service/product types or features that are having strong demand and often lead to relatively quick purchases once the fit is understood.
| Category | Why It Sells Quickly / What Pain It Addresses | Examples / Signals |
|---|---|---|
| AI-powered content creation & enhancement | People need content: blog posts, ad copy, social media content, video scripts. AI that helps do this faster / better is compelling. | Tools like Jasper, HumanizerAI, etc. |
| Ad creative generation & optimisation | Running ads is expensive; testing creatives is tedious. AI that auto-generates creatives (images, videos) or optimises them helps non-experts and agencies. |
Omneky doing ad creative / campaign orchestration. HeyGen for video ads. |
| Chatbots / conversational marketing | Want to engage website visitors, qualify leads, answer FAQs, drive toward conversion without needing a large support staff. | Drift’s AI chatbots, tools like Intercom, etc. |
| Quick video tools | Video is still high ROI (especially short-form). But doing video traditionally is slow/expensive. Tools that let non-creatives produce good enough video rapidly are very attractive. | Tools like HeyGen, Vizard, others. |
| Predictive analytics / forecasts / optimisation tools | Businesses want to reduce guesswork: where to spend ad dollars, what product features to build, what customers to target. | Recast (forecast paid channel ROI) is a notable one. |
| Automation / workflow tools | Anything that automates repetitive tasks: email sequences, content posting, data transfers, etc. Saves time and labour. | Zapier, and similar. From “10 tools for SaaS founders” etc. |
| Templates / plug-and-play assets / “done for you” services | If there’s an asset someone needs (landing page templates, social media templates, ad templates), they’ll often pay for good ones, especially if they trust the maker or see demos. | |
| Small, niche “tools” / micro-SaaS that solve one specific job | People will buy fast if the tool solves a clearly defined pain, has a low monthly price, and doesn’t require big integration. | Reddit threads show people praising micro-SaaS that do one small thing very well. |
Small to medium business owners who don't have big teams; they want tools that reduce cost and effort.
Marketers / growth teams who are under pressure to deliver results quickly (more conversions, more content, better ad performance).
Agencies / freelancers who want tools to scale or products to resell / integrate into client work.
Solopreneurs / creators especially those doing content / social media / personal brand building.
Useful to know what tends to have longer sales cycles or more friction:
Big platform integrations / heavy tech products that require lots of setup / onboarding.
Promises of “AI will do everything” without clear boundaries—people are skeptical; expectations too high.
Very expensive tools with unclear ROI; harder to buy fast unless decision makers are already convinced.
Tools that require major behavior change in the buyer’s workflow (unless this change has very obvious benefit).
What seems especially hot or under-leveraged:
Short-form video / content repurposing: take existing content (blogs, long videos) and cut into clips, social posts, reels, etc.
AI agents / “helper bots” that can act semi-autonomously (e.g. handling parts of marketing workflow, ad testing, creative suggestions) while still being overseen.
Localization / multilingual content tools: markets where English isn’t enough, or tools that let creators post in multiple languages.
Personalization at scale: for example, tailoring landing pages / emails / offers to each user’s profile / behavior.
Free tools / “value unlocks” as lead magnets that are so useful people can’t ignore them, leading into paid upsells. Reddit has examples of people making “free tools that do one job well” converting lots of leads. Reddit
AI tools that help reduce cost or overhead of ad spend (by predicting CAC, optimizing campaigns, generating creative, etc.).
From Reddit & reports, here are some concrete examples / case studies / signals of what's working right now:
A person built a “free tool” that is independent, gives value, then uses it to drive leads at ~30% conversion. The tool was built in a week.
Smaller SaaS tools that give a core benefit (e.g. multiple AI model access + a clean interface) saw early customers even with low traffic. TypeThink.AI is one example.
Tools that allow video ad generation or repurposing of content (especially for social platforms) are becoming higher ROI.
If I were aiming to build something/improve a service now to hit impulse / quick sales, I’d consider:
AI video ad creator: take product descriptions or text + images, generate short ad video + captions, optimized for TikTok, Instagram. Low price monthly + paid tiers.
Ad creative testing tool: automatically generate variants, test small with A/B, pick what works, show results.
Chatbot + lead qualification widget: lightweight, easy-install, maybe plug into website and do basic sales/lead qualification.
Content repurposer: turn blog posts / webinars into social posts / reels / email snippets.
Free-tool lead magnets: something useful, simple (like a calculator, audit, or checker), that draws people in; then upsell to a paid version with more depth.
Templates bundles: for copy, landing pages, ad scripts, email sequences.
Automation / integration tools: maybe something connecting services (not huge enterprise ones) but things like automating parts of workflows (social posting, ad data pulling, analytics).

My mission with the Courageous Recovery podcast is to save lives and allow the person to Reveal the Lifestyle Champion within them. There are many different types of recovery programs, they all are aimed at helping those battling substance use disorders to transition from being harmed to being clean and sober. Anyone who’s battling a compulsive or destructive behavior wants to be healthy and they desire to live a happy and productive life.
Sadly, only 1 in 10 Americans with a substance use disorder receives treatment. Why?
Because it’s not safe to come forward and admit your challenges. The stigma is fueling an American public health crisis and we need to “Crush the Stigma!”Substance use disorders are associated with discrimination and social disapproval – more than any medical condition.
These same people are often isolated, outcast, and even imprisoned. Stigma isolates people, it discourages them from seeking help, and even leads some medical providers to resist delivering evidence-based treatment services.
