Launched in summer of 2018, Google Podcasts is a new podcast directory maintained by Google search for Android and Google smart speaker devices.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
If your podcast website is already found in Google search results, you do not have to do anything additional, your podcast should already be discoverable on Google Podcasts. The following instructions found on this page are for users who are starting a new podcast and website or are having problems finding their show on Google Podcasts.
Preparing your podcast and website for Google Podcasts
Before you prepare and submit your podcast to Google make sure you meet the following minimum requirements.
Your podcast website and podcast feed are available to Googlebot. Make sure your robots.txt does not block the path to your podcast homepage or podcast feed.
A dedicated homepage with a HTML feed link tag for search engine discovery.
The homepage and RSS feed must be available to Googlebot at the exact URL specified in the RSS feed.
Valid email address in the Apple or Google email field.
Have created at least one blog post with media (a podcast episode) in either mp3, m4a audio format.
If you have completed the above steps, you are now ready to submit your podcast.
Submit your podcast (and website) to the Google Podcasts
Please use Google Webmaster Tools to verify that your podcast website is indexed by Googlebot. Webmaster Tools is a great resources to assist you with making sure your podcast and website are discoverable by Google search as well as other search engines.
Update your podcast on Google Podcasts
Google Podcasts checks for updates to podcast feeds in five minute increments. You may also use Google PubSubHubbub hub to push your updates. Simply enter your feed URL in the Topic URL field and click Publish.
