They have shown that true power in a minority parliament isn’t about who can yell the loudest or trigger an election, but about who has the maturity to know when to hold fast and when to act for the common good. In a night that saw Elizabeth May stand tall with conviction, it was the NDP’s calculated, graceful abstention that ultimately secured the win for all Canadians.

It is a lesson all of Ottawa would be wise to learn. Perhaps it is time to consider that any party that recklessly forces an election should be the only one sent to the polls, to answer a single, simple question from their constituents: "Should this person be returned to parliament?"
