Inworld is offering up to $1,000,000 in grants to game developers, immersive artists, storytellers, writers, and AI enthusiasts who create groundbreaking experiences with AI characters. The Inworld AI Character Grants program aims to unlock new creative possibilities and emergent gameplay through AI characters that can think and speak for themselves.
Each selected project will receive up to $50,000 to integrate Inworld into their new or existing game or immersive experience. The program welcomes applications on a rolling basis but encourages early submissions. Projects should push the boundaries of storytelling and interactive entertainment, incorporating AI characters as a central part of the experience. They can be experimental, new, or first-of-their-kind experiences and may also involve AI characters in existing games or intellectual properties.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and provide project details, a short description, and a visual deck or video showcasing their proposal for Inworld characters. Judges include prominent figures such as writer Neal Stephenson, Oculus co-founder Nate Mitchell, film producer Kiri Hart, and Academy Award-winning designer John Gaeta.
Selected creators will have the chance to explore the future of storytelling, gaming, AI, and virtual worlds while receiving financial support and the opportunity to co-create interactive narratives with Inworld AI characters.
