The Executive Director of WebMD Video is a leadership position responsible for creating, developing, and implementing strategies to deliver high quality, engaging, and market-competitive video for WebMD. The position is accountable for the overall quality and success of WebMD video on site, in social media, and across other distribution platforms.
The Executive Director leads the editorial and creative development of video assets, managing against traffic, engagement and revenue goals. The EP directly manages editorial staff and video budget and leads a cross-functional team supporting video goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the overall vision and strategy for WebMD video content
- Responsible for producing high quality condition, health and wellness vidoes that deliver against engagement metrics as well as revenue goals
- Establish and manage key performance indicators for on and off-site performance; work with internal teams to establish tracking and communication mechanisms
- Manages a team of full time and freelance writers and producers that develop and produce video segments internally
- Response for managing external video production studios to ensure those videos meet WebMD’s standards and are developed on schedule and on budget
- Sets video priorities and goals for a cross-functional team including technology and product partners
- Conceives and manages the creation of new video concepts as well as evolves existing ones
- Leads efforts to integrate video across on and off-site platforms including social media in collaboration with social media team
- Expands distribution onsite and through strategic partnerships, as well as new devices/ platforms; grows reach and penetration
- Closely collaborates with sales and marketing leadership on packaging, pricing, positioning and, as needed, pitches
- Establish video best practices
- Monitors the overall landscape and industry trends including new device launches and competitor activity
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience
- 10-plus years professional digital experience producing video for a consumer audience, both on location and in studio
- Substantial condition, health and/or wellness content and video experience
- 5-plus years leading a team responsible for video development for a digital media company
- A proven track record of developing and executing a successful video programming at scale
- Has conceptualized and developed new series, especially for social channels
- Strong familiarity with non-linear editing
- Broadcast awards and/or online video awards a plus
- BA degree or equivalent work experience required

- An eye for compelling storytelling and a deep understanding of what will drive engagement per platform
- Can provide concise status updates to internal stakeholders, including executives
- Ability to unflappably deliver highest quality work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, multitasking environment
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Possess a positive attitude under pressure and excellent interpersonal team skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate as a cross-functional team member
