aRTS Rutherglen, in conjunction with our major sponsor Scion Winery & Vineyard and local community sponsors, has run a successful Sculpture Trail for eight years attracting talented artists and individuals from Victoria and N.S.W. Over the years we have exhibited superb sculptures in wineries and local businesses.
aRTS Rutherglen is delighted to have purchased or commissioned eight sculptures that have been installed around the town.
John Salafia, the 2015 Competition winner, will have a commissioned work installed at Lake King later this year.

- $3000 – Acquisition or Commission
- $250 – Highly Commended Indoor
- $250 – Highly Commended Outdoor
- $250 – People’s Choice Award

The challenge for artists is to create affordable sculpture art (interior or exterior) from the everyday.
There is no set theme EXCEPT for SCHOOLS. Students are invited to create sculptures on flora and fauna.
The concept behind the reCYCLINGsculpture trail is to encourage people to use found objects, discarded ‘treasures’ and imagination to create something that can inspire and give pleasure to others. To this end, aRTS Rutherglen is working towards acquiring sculptures and developing a sculpture park on the shores of Lake King.
The trail consists of approx 40 sculptures being exhibited in business houses on the Main Street, at the Tourist Information Centre and participating wineries in the local area. The trail is suitable for cycling with some dirt road riding. A map of the all the participating venues will be available at the Tourist Information Centre. Visitors are invited to vote for People’s Choice Award by going on our facebook page artsrutherglen.com.au
