Now in its 21st year, the Blacktown City Art Prize is one of the most respected art prizes in Western Syndey, with cash prizes of $20,000 and acquisitive awards. Artists are welcome to submit entries for drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics and mixed media. Review submission guidelines below.

17 local artists and community organisations have received funding assistance through the Blacktown City Council 2016 Creative Arts Fund.
The Creative Arts Fund is an initiative of Blacktown City Council which provides $40,000 worth of grants to encourage artistic endeavours in the region. To date the fund has awarded up to $3,000 to support the following projects:
- Assefa Bekele, script development
- Association of Bhutanese in Australia, weaving workshops
- Australian-Cook Islands Community Council (NSW), drumming project
- Farzin Fardin, film project
- Hayley Williams, visual arts project
- Helmy El-Rab, visual arts project
- Jackson Mathew, music project
- Jan Cleveringa, visual arts project
- Life Without Barriers, mural project
- Michael Duchesne, music project
- Mahmmd Lelo, music project
- Mount Druitt Ethnic Communities Agency, film project
- NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors (STARTTS), multi-arts project
- ONELOVE Mentoring, youth choir project
- Police Citizens Youth Club NSW (Blacktown), youth choir project
- Rap 4 Change, hip-hop workshops
- Zahid Ahmad and Fozia Zahid, visual arts project
