Captain Love is a Jamaican-born reggae singer and songwriter from Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica, whose music is rooted in positivity, faith, resilience, love and social consciousness.
Now based in Toronto, Canada, Captain Love has built a growing international audience through music that combines the soulful foundation of roots reggae with accessible melodies and uplifting messages.
Central to his artistic philosophy are the teachings of his mother, who encouraged Captain Love and his siblings to maintain a positive outlook, dream big and use education, faith and their natural talents to overcome life's challenges. Those lessons continue to influence both his music and his outlook on life.
Dreaming Big
One of the clearest expressions of Captain Love's philosophy is “I'm Dreaming Big.” Inspired by his childhood and his mother's encouragement, the song reflects the belief that circumstances do not have to determine a person's future.
Its message of perseverance, ambition and hope has connected with listeners in Jamaica and Canada while helping Captain Love expand his reach into the United States, United Kingdom, Africa and Europe.
For Captain Love, dreaming big is more than the title of a song. It represents a philosophy that runs throughout his music: remain positive, recognize your abilities and continue moving forward regardless of the obstacles in front of you.
Africa Arise
In 2025, Captain Love expanded his international reach with “Africa Arise,” a song created as a message of encouragement to African audiences.
The song calls on Africans to recognize their potential, pursue education, strengthen their communities and rise in everything they do. It helped introduce Captain Love's music to new audiences across the continent and received media and radio exposure, including a feature in 24Hours Newspaper in Ghana and radio airplay in Ghana, Senegal and The Gambia, as well as Jamaica.
“ Africa Arise” reflects Captain Love's broader approach to music: using reggae not only as entertainment, but as a vehicle for encouragement, education and positive social messages.

Songs such as “Give Thanks to the Almighty” demonstrate his spiritual side, while “Save Mother Earth” addresses environmental consciousness. “Love at Christmas” shows a lighter, seasonal side of his songwriting, while recordings such as “The Engineers” continue his commitment to recognizing people, ideas and experiences that inspire him.
Together, these recordings demonstrate a multidimensional artist who is not confined to one message or one style of reggae.
Jamaican Roots, Canadian Base, International Vision
Although Captain Love now calls Canada home, Jamaica remains central to his musical identity.
Growing up in Spanish Town exposed him to the culture, rhythms and traditions that helped shape reggae music internationally. His work draws from that heritage while reflecting the experiences of a Jamaican artist building a new chapter in Canada.
His musical influences include Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye and Mahalia Jackson—artists from different musical traditions who share an ability to combine powerful voices with emotionally resonant and socially meaningful music.
Those influences can be heard in Captain Love's emphasis on melody, spirituality, emotion and songs designed to leave listeners with something meaningful after the music ends.
Building an International Audience
Captain Love's growing international presence has also been supported by an active promotional team.
His manager, Ken Solomon of Hott Waxx Promotions, has played an important role in promoting Captain Love's music and expanding its reach across multiple markets.
With airplay and exposure extending from Jamaica and Canada into Africa and other international territories, Captain Love continues to develop an audience that crosses geographic and cultural boundaries.
