Perplexity has launched a $42.5 million initiative to compensate publishers, creators, and students through its expanded revenue-sharing, affiliate, and bounty programs. Under the publisher program, content creators receive 80% of subscription revenue when their content is viewed, cited, or used by Perplexity’s AI or Comet browser. This system rewards three types of engagement—direct visits, search query references, and AI task usage—ensuring that publishers are paid fairly when their work powers AI responses.
